We did a round of Clomid in October and had a nice, large follicle around day 12. Did an Ovadril shot on day 17 and I started my freaking period on day 32. DAMNIT!
So, we go into the office to get an ultrasound, and sure enough, that damn big follicle was STILL THERE. BIG AS LIFE! I knew it too. My husband thinks it was all in my head, but I could feel it. That’s how big it was. Softball-size, I’m telling you.
So, the doctors advised against doing another round of Clomid and said we should probably “sit this cycle out.”
Then, I got on the scale and decided that I should probably lose 10-15 lbs since I put on 3 of the 6 lbs I had lost in Sept.
So, we are putting this blog and our infertility treatments on hold until 2010.

Clearly the IUI did not result in a pregnancy, or I wouldn’t be blogging about this now.
We decided that we should try another infertility clinic. There was just something about our last visit that turned us off… mostly the fact that they ushered us in and out and had us signing documents in such a whirlwind that we left dazed and confused. Oh, and when they called in my Femara prescription they didn’t provide the right directions (or Walgreens f-ed it up) and I ended up not taking enough for three of the five days. Doh! I knew it was going to be a botched cycle, so we decided to take a short summer break, save up some money and start trying again after the summer. This gave me time to not only save money, but consider my current job situation and my current infertility doctor.
In August, we attended an open house at another infertility clinic. I instantly noticed the difference, not only in the physical appearance of the office but of the people and their attitudes. I think Hub and I both felt this clinic was a much better match for us.
I scheduled a consultation visit with one of the doctors for next week. I have high hopes!

@sfzoo posted a link to this pic today.

Good luck for me?
Been Google happy the past few days – searching for terms like “pregnancy “conception” “iui” and hCG.” Came across this great site with a step by step fetal development guide.
